Well, I've just returned from a trip to London where a brand new comic for kids -- The DFC was launched last night. As some of you know, I have a 13 episode story that will be starting in the comic in a few weeks time. I had tremendous fun writing it, and every time I see Laura Howell's wonderful artwork, it brings a smile to my face. Here's the example she had up on her blog that I linked to once before:

The elephant (whose character was based on the Nork*), is main focus of the story. I can't wait to get the first issue into my hands in a few short weeks!

*This is not a joke.

What colour did you expect? Of course she's purple...

Is the Nork aware of her..err..inspirational role?

Oh yes! The Nork knows its role. It beats me, but I know from the relative lightness of the blows that it is secretly pleased.

Is this an internet comic, or is it an actual paper published comic?

Ditto Zollo's question.

See my reply to Zollo re: the Nork...

It is a paper comic, but will only be available by subscription. However, although it is not being sold through shops, it is a very BIG deal. Philip Pullman is writing one of the stories and there has been substantial support shown by major figures in the British children's publishing world.
